[Year 12 IT Apps] Techniques for acquiring data via websites

Hi 
 
Does anyone have any more info on techniques for acquiring data via websites (U3, OC2) than is provided in Potts or on Mark Kelly's website? I'm struggling to come up with something meaningful in answer to the question in the sample task in Potts (p123) that asks students to list 3 techniques that could be used by the organisation to acquire data via their website.
