[Year 12 IT Apps] OT: list discussion <- on topic chat about OT topics

This is an ITA discussion about mail netiquette, community guidelines or OT messages off topic .. interesting thought although it could be one of those paradoxes that implode and create division by zero errors if they are converted into mail rules. Dont try this with your mail client folks.

Reinier is right to point out that there is a list digest that users can subscribe to. There is also another mailing list that other users can use for off topic posts.

I enjoy some of the side banter and chat on this list and respect that apart from the odd whip crack, it is hard to completely quarantine or distill this into a pure ITA discussion. Teachers are fun merchants and using this list to arm ourselves with the odd silly picture, lame IT joke or quirky computer fact can briefly engage our students with some mild entertainment and traction to pull them back on topic and on task.

Some might view this list as a precious virtual commons and ITA library, some as an ITA engine house to grind through ideas to help mill their documents into shape, others as the ITA coffee machine where we can laugh or chill out with froth and bubble. I see it as a powerful, online PLN where I can stand amongst giants and ask dangerous questions.

Regards Roland
