[Year 12 IT Apps] Using technology as a study tool

Hi Peter,

I also tell my students about tools such as Google Reader and Google Docs.

Year 12 English students may find Google Alerts useful as they prepare for their Unit 3 Issues Oral.

I have also used tools such as Bubbl.us with them and have seen kids using it themselves for other lessons.

I'm a big fan (and a moderator)of the website Merspi.com.au, which is a VCE Q+A site based on the StackExchange template. That has a pretty good community and usually provides good help.

If I think of any more I'll pass them on.

Hi,

I'm giving a presentation next week on *Using technology as a study tool* to
all of our VCE students.

Some of the ideas I have for speaking about so far are the VCAA website for
past exams, Teacher Tube, Wikispaces, Podcasts, Online Bookmarks
(Delicious).

I would love to find out about some other ideas that you guys might have or
use.

I expect there would be quite a lot of technology on smart phones that could
be used really effectively but I'm unaware of it as I've only recently
upgraded.
