Not sure exactly what you are after :-)

Simple explanation is that
  a.. 1 byte = 8 bits
  b.. So 1 Megabyte = 8 Megabits
c.. That may be file size or
d.. It may be file transfer speed per second
Now Mega?
  a.. Used to be that 1 Kilobyte was 1024 bytes (Note 1024 = 2^10)
  b.. and 1 Megabyte was 1024 Kilobytes
  c.. BUT
  d.. Recently manufacturers have moved to 1 Kilobyte = 1,000 bytes, 1 Megabyte = 1,000 Kilobytes and 1 Gigabyte = 1,000 Megabytes
