On a different slant, has anybody else set up a Facebook page for their school? I have an idea that it may be similar to what many here have done with Wikipedia. I am in non hurry, the school secretary can tip-toe across this line .. just looking for some pointers that can be passed on.

I guess that's why my last post was so rushed and mistyped.

I did remember hearing about an open source version of facebook called
diaspora starting soon, which has much higher levels of security but as
yet I am still waiting to see how easy it is to configure. Also I did
not find the Privacy Policy for this new system. However I did find the
article now.

Thanks for the tip Ben, just doing an investigation at this point to see
what surfaces.

Tell ya what though...its really interesting in the range of responses
at both ends of the spectrum!
