hi All
I believe they are allowed a dictionary. The exams are proof read by specialist ESL people at VCAA prior to the sitter vetter.
All answers must be in English since 1991 when someone had to receive a mark in maths because their answer was correct but in Chinese (Rhombus was the word in 1990).

Ring the VCAA ESL people and ask for the answer in an email.
