Dear colleagues
Welcome back to another year of VCE IT. I hope you all had a chance to
relax over January.
In Saturday's Age was an article titled 'Wired for trouble' which
focused on a recent report on cyber threats (The Age, Saturday 30
January, Insight, page 5). The report is titled 'In the Crossfire:
Critical Infrastructure in the Age of Cyber War' and was presented last
week at the World Economic Forum in Switzerland. While the report is
lengthy (44 pages), the article provides an interesting and useful
summary of current threats to the security of information, and
subsequent consequences. To access the full report you need to register.
The report is available at:
http://csis.org/event/crossfire-critical-infrastructure-age-cyber-war
Just as an aside, when I searched for the report using 'intitle:in the
crossfire ...' with Google, 435 sites were listed; when just using the
title of the report as the search string 3,530 sites were listed. With
both processes the most appropriate site was listed first, but targeting
the search with 'intitle:' is an effective strategy for increasing the
likelihood of locating required information.
Regards
Paula
