S337-2009 Ultranet moves into its next phase

Main Points

*	CSG Services Pty Ltd has been appointed as the successful
tenderer to 
work with the Department to deliver the Ultranet to every Victorian 
government school.
*	CSG Services Pty Ltd is offering an innovative solution based
around 
the Oracle Student Learning product.
*	Implementation and school readiness planning has commenced, and
the 
Ultranet will be delivered to all Victorian government schools by term 
three 2010.
*	The Ultranet is an online learning environment that will support
high 
quality learning and teaching, and connect students, teachers and 
parents anywhere, anytime.
Additional Information
*	As part of the Victorian Schools Plan, the Government committed
$60.5 
million to deliver the Ultranet to every Victorian government school by 
Term Three 2010.
*	This exciting project will transform teaching and learning, and 
prepare students for the innovation and knowledge economy of the 21st 
Century.
*	The Ultranet will:
o	improve responsiveness to individual learning needs;
o	provide better information to parents, the school system and the

Department;
o	improve efficiency of the learning environment and school
administration;
o	adopt an enterprise approach to intranet development that
connects 
every Victorian government school; and
o	exploit previous ICT investments.
*	50 Ultranet Coaches continue to support schools to prepare for
the 
Ultranet and build teachers' ICT capacity in the classroom. In 2010, 
Ultranet Coaches will roll out training to Super Users and provide 
ongoing support to schools to embed the use of the Ultranet.
