[Year 12 IT Apps] Not sure where to ask this?

At Rosebud SC

We have a rotating 6 day timetable, 6 X 52 minutes. eg/ Day 1 Day 2 Day 3...etc. Looked at the 4 period day over varying static periods 8,10,15 day cycles, haven't yet taken the plunge.

6 day rotating allows for greater curriculum flexibility than a 6 period 5 day static T/T, and we don't lose subject time against pupil free days or public holidays.

We are looking at reducing formal IT at Junior levels. One suggestion has been 4 periods per 6 day cycle at Yr7 and consolidating the gained skills across the curriculum at Yr8.

At Santa Maria about four years ago we changed from a 6 x 50 mins per day to a 4 x 75 per day on a 10 day cycle.

Staff have adapted well. Personally I like the 75 mins lessons. More can be done.

Disadvantage - sometimes you may not see the students for a week or two as the class may be timetabled 2 or 3 times a week and if it falls on a public holiday or sports day or both, there goes your whole week.

Does your school run a 4 period, 6 period or any other period timetable and what do people think about their school's TT structure?

My school is going through a process of timetable evaluation and I was hoping to help with some feedback for our leadership team.
