[Year 12 IT Apps] [Offtopic] - Roland G - Teacher of the Year award

There was a news embargo although it is interesting how social networking
and SMS leaked information to me soon after the decision was made and again
by myself. Hard to keep a secret online and open minded that the group
picked a feral Victorian and educator on the edge like me. I am a bit
nervous after a second phone call I got a day ago but I cannot say anything
more at this stage (sits on hands).

Thank you all for the many messages and calls I have been getting off list!
Too many go go through or reply at once (thank goodness for GoogleGears and
offline caching) .. so just a quick thank you to everybody who helped,
especially my troupe of feral Australian animal hand puppets that I
sometimes use to teach IT. With a splash of drama I used these to great
effect at the ACCE2008 study tour to NECC2008 that VITTA so kindly sponsored
me for and again at a leadership forum with the ACEC2008 conference in
Canberra. Don't laugh, there is some serious learning (and rather scary VCE
teaching) going on here. I keep promissing Renee that I will write something
up for the VITTA journal about this activity ..

I will bless you all with a bit of peace and quiet from my dribbling as my
family rolls on for a well earned break in a damp campervan, leaping from
free wireless access point to point. Have a well earned break folks!
