After speaking to my Techies we have come to the consciences that you may be in the poo if you load school owned and licences software onto your personal machine, even if you are using it for school purposes....... as all Microsoft software is DEET only which means it is not allowed on your personal machines but if it is a product that your school has purchased that is not a DEET software item then it's licences maybe different I would look into it very carefully....
if you have any particular questions please feel free to fire them our way.. as we have just gone through this with some of our staff here and it was not pleasant.
cheers

Subject: [Year 12 IT Apps] SW on teacher laptop...
Good people, I have been loading the School's licensed SW onto my teacher laptop so I can develop exercises @ home etc.
I believe that this is OK if you are using the SW for teaching or to assist your teaching.
Anyway, after receipt of a recent DEECD email re the laptop rollout program, I have decided to purchase my own and hand my creaking old R52 back.
My question is, does this change anything re the use of the laptop and the SW I may download onto same?
I believe that nothing changes legally, but I thought I should just check with my peers.
