I was a walk in sample and walk out participant of the conference, and I
agree entirely with Kervok, thanks to the Vitta committee for a
brilliant conference.

Subject: [Year 12 IT Apps] Brilliant VITTA conference - congratulations
toall who worked on this outstanding event
Hi Folks,
Sorry to lumber you with cross posts BUT ...
I think we can agree the VITTA conference was fantastic with an amazing
professional setup, excellent organisation, a diverse number of
speakers, subjects and ideas to inspire, take back to our schools and
use to improve our teaching.
On behalf of everyone there my thanks to the VITTA committee, the EO
Renee , Adrian , Phil , Antonia , Denise, Roland , Ros, Lisa, Mia, and
the list just goes on and on and I will apologise for not naming all the
others but you know who you are.
For the majority who attend. walk in, sample the offerings, and walk
out, the effort that goes behind the scenes into this type of event may
not be so obvious. How many for example, know that Phil was at the
airport at 4 am or thereabouts to pick up the keynote Derek Robertson
who came from Scotland especially for the conference ? and others gave
up their weekends and time to help make Derek as comfortable as possible
for the 2 weeks or so he was here. These folks are teachers just like
the rest of us with marking, reports to write and families to look
after.
Consider also that Roland packed up and shipped a whole lab of PCs from
his school ( that he had to then take back and reimage, reinstall ) to
help deliver a few hands on sessions just to make it a little more
meaningful for all attending. He could have demonstrated Scratch and
Python on his laptop , but he wanted to " make a difference " as he
often describes in an almost throw away fashion his legendary work
ethic.
For all you workers behind the scenes and all the attention you paid to
every little detail such as the reaction of a delegate at a particular
moment to a simple detail like the agenda for one event or session, and
how you may have taken things to heart, a sincere thank you for all your
efforts.
It makes me proud to say I work with and belong to such a dynamic,
professional fraternity ( and sorority ) of wonderful teachers and
fabulous human beings.
Signing off from this great love in
Warm Regards
