I can either guess it DNS at the school or the moodle config file.
Had the same issue when I ran a moodle box at home with no DNS server.
Wrote a little if statement in PHP to help it work.
Something along the lines of
If IP = 10.0.**
Then moodle root directory is http://10.0.0.5/ Else
www.mymoodlebox.com
If need be I may still have the file but I just searched the moodle docs.

Any networking gurus out there?
My Moodle server is returning a lot of "Page not found" errors when accessed
from within our LAN but not when accessed from student homes.
Should I be suspecting faulty switches?
This is a typical message

Where I think 210.11.184.9 is the border IP.
