Subject: [Year 12 IT Apps] Work Available [proposed course attached]

  Apologies for the cross posts.

This is of particular interest to IT teachers who have retired or are retiring or other teachers who may be interested in some attractive paid work for approx 18 days.

I have received information of a course requiring a trainer due to the sudden unavailability of a current trainer.

There is some flexibility about delivery times for the course and there could be some consideration for more than one trainer delivering the program over the time. The deadline for delivery is January 24th, 2009.

At the moment the course was planned to commence on Tuesday Nov. 11 and run on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday each week for 6 weeks, finishing Dec. 19th..

Depending on trainer availability the course could be commenced in December and run 3 or 4 days a week, with Wednesday unavailable. If doe 4 days a week the course could be delivered in about 4 weeks.A brief outline of the request I received is as follows:

  ----

A course requiring a trainer for a Certificate III in IT for a Productivity Places Program. This is free training that the Rudd government is providing for unemployed people.

Our course is for 3 days [See note above re. flexibility of delivery] a week (Tues, Thurs, and Fri) over 6 weeks commencing next Tuesday 11th November and completing on Dec 19th. There are 7 participants in the class with a range of IT experience but no previous qualifications. We have paper resource books here on site for all units apart from the 4 electives. These are from a company called Data Discovery. The training will be at our office here in Springvale as we have 6 computers with Word 2003 on them. Our IT department is in Sydney and our IT person there is happy to work with you or the trainer to put on the system what is required.

  -----

If there are teachers, retired or whatever, preferably with a Cert IV, could they please respond to me privately on my email rather than through the list.

I can provide further information and contact details for anyone interested, even if only part of a team providing delivery.

An outline of the proposed course is attached. There is some flexibility in the design of the course.
