Hi Kent, 

More than teaching + car and extras.  And work from home too.  But heaps of travelling- not that I mind.  
Yep- Horsham is my area but your order was probably taken by Billy who was in charge of the Catholic schools in the area.  I'm covering Barwon South West and Grampians areas for all schools- gov, ind, cath as from the 10th March.  

Oh Gosh- superhero and immortalised- what did I do?  lol!

Are you now earning more? (dont need to know how much, thats irrelevent).

I guess its also a case of the opportunities being there to take which obviously you spotted one and took it!

Now Mark, before you again tell us to keep it relevent, consider one of the outcomes in VCE which includes knowledge of careers and opportunities in the IT industry. Zac is now a valid case study!!  He's been immortalized. (not quite a superhero yet though, I suspect).

I think you'll find that us IT teachers have more than enough skills to go anywhere, anytime.  A case of selling yourself in the right way.  As teachers we tend to underestimate ourselves and the skills we have- thanks in part to the media, and the devaluation of teaching by the wider community- why do you think our pay is so ordinary?  (Must admit Government doesn't help and the union IMHO has been really slack and in bed with the government till very recently).  

The job was advertised, I applied, no contacts with this one, and I got it.
