[Year 12 IT Apps] iRobot Warrior Robots

I'd also be interested to hear about whos doing what with robots. We have nothing on that front at my school so perhaps, if there's a low cost way of getting my kids into this stuff(sub 2 grand is my idea of cheap!) then gimme an email as a starter. I am always looking at ways to spice up the IT content at my school as its just me from year 8 up!  I have enthusiastic kids from year 7-10 but they get slugged by the VCE run of the mill same old same old...and move to other subjects at the upper end! Have intro'd Gamemaker,HTML, VB and a mix of multi-media using these and Front Page, Publisher but thats about it. I am finding some students looking for a real buzz and am scratching my head trying to match their enthusiasm with my skills!. Its stressful yet rewarding but I still worry about how many will choose to do IT at the senior levels.
Any ideas or contacts in the Wimmera region would be great...(Ballarat is still 2hrs away!).

If anyone is doing anything good with building robots from general junk
- or even using the Lego NXT Kits, I would love to have a chat.
These kits seem to take plastic bots into a new domain.
