I agree. Also, though IT is carbon dependant, it is probably the least carbon dependant part of modern economies, if say considered in TCO2/$ economic activity.

Food, shelter and transport are highly carbon dependant, the environmental footprint of IT is the least of our problems and one easily solved with current technology, let alone emerging technologies.
