Hi Folks,

 A case of spam protection overkill.
jh at ekc.vic.edu.au has subscribed to the itapps mailing list. No harm in that.

When the itapps list writes to jh at eks.vic.edu.au , his/her email gateway challenges the itapps list address to identify itself as friend or foe by writing back to itapps at edulists.com.au. What does that do ? Creates a mailing loop as the list writes back to all subscrbers, one of which is jh at ekc.vic.edu.au whose gateway sends out another challenge. 
Identical to out of office replies. A pain in the neck and on the netiquette guidelines as an unacceptable feature of email use for subscribers.

I am in the process of removing all email from the domain ekc.vic.edu.au and the lag time this takes is what will test your patience.
