Well why bother? The GOVERNMENT knows so much more than we do about what is good for us and what we should be allowed to do. :-) :-(
So they are now considering telling ISPs to filter all "unacceptable" sites unless we contact the ISP and say we do not want those sites to be filtered.
Knowledge is power
The governments want it all

Hello Maggie
Our service provider, when I questioned him at a recent conference stated that they had duty to
protect school students. I tried to argue that I had a duty to educate them but that was the end of
the argument. Another reply was that our technicians could individually unblock sites that we
wanted unblocked but that is such a huge task.
We only just changed over to this one and I much preferred the old. However the decision was
made by leadership and I had no say in it.
I find that if students are using these sites, I am constantly reminding them of security issues,
plagarism etc and they develop an instinct and conscience, rather than experiment by themselves
outside in the real world or in their homes.
Cheers
