[Year 12 IT Apps] Ultranet Trainers

I agree - and as I said our PD person thought it was compulsory, and the
fact that it was from "Kimberley Hall - Ultranet Leader" is REALLY
cheeky - because Kimberley Hall is NOT an Ultranet Trainer, Ringwood
have obviously given her a position as their "Ultranet Leader", which
was part of the fact that it looked as though it was officially from the
DEECD Ultranet Trainers (Kimberley Hall is listed in the Global
Addresses List as - Teacher - Ringwood Secondary College, whereas the
Ultranet Trainers are listed as Team Leader and their Region)

As I said - our school nearly spent $600 plus the cost of 4 CRTs plus
travel/petrol for 4 staff

Cheers
Ros

I've been onto our ultranet coach and he thinks it's a bit cheeky to
offer this training when the coaches will do this for free.

Sounds like a fund raiser for RSC?

For those who may not have seen it, I have attached the flyer we got
about the ultranet training at Ringwood SC. It was sent to schools last
year in December, with the following message:

"Hi all,

In 2008 Ringwood Secondary College will be running practicum sessions to
assist schools in their readiness for the implementation of the
Ultranet. Ringwood Secondary College was a leading school for the
Students at Centre department trial. Learn from our experiences and
prepare your school for the roll out of Ultranet.

Each practicum will support participants to plan for and manage the
change which will be required for successful implementation of the
Ultranet.

Please see the attached flyer for further information about the sessions
and registration.

I look forward to working with many of you in the coming year."

Regards,
Kimberley Hall

Training for what?
I was told yesterday that the contracts for the Ultranet 'program' will
not be signed or ready until April of this year. That the trainers would
not be receiving training until December 2008. The earliest that the
Ultranet would be in the schools is June 2009. (This was from an
Ultranet trainer.)

Which raises the question what will the 50 appointed Ultranet trainers
be doing until then?

So your school is mandated to pay for the Ultranet training?

A quick Google of the SMR website and Ultranet only hit a brief mention
in the 2006 annual report and not much else on the DEECD website. I
guess, stay tuned...

Does anyone have a list of Ultranet Trainers for the Southern

We are being told 4 staff must travel to Ringwood (from Bentleigh) and
pay $150 each for a day of training???
