This happens when the Kids (logically) use cut and paste from the first
button they draw on the form.
Each Button must be drawn separately and named accordingly to prevent
this type of problem

Subject: [Year 12 IT Apps] problems with access switchboard
Hi,
we are doing Access at the moment and some kids are having problems with
the switchboard form.
We know how to do it, it just seems that one minute the buttons are
working, and the next minute we get all sorts of error messages. The
messages are not helpful in explaining what the problem is. In fact
they make no sense at all, from what I can see. However, some kids sail
through the switchboard without a problem, and they are following the
exact same procedure.
I am not strong in Visual basic, but the error messages seem to relate
to a problem when the click event occurs. It seems to think all the
buttons are the same (or have an ambiguous name) even when they are
linked to different reports and forms (and the button names are all
different and appear to me to be quite sensible). Is there a limit on
the length of the button name or some protocol I am not following?
Is there some trick to preventing this, or is it just "Access being
difficult"???? Any suggestions greatfully received.
regards,
Janet Bane
