I am really surprised you were allowed to do that. Absolutely every
school I have ever worked in would not allow a compulsory revision class
in the holidays. Opens up a pandora's box with parents who schedule
dentists, holidays, whatever. They can quite rightly claim a
disadvantage if a compulsory revision session is added to the school
program with only a weeks notice. Questions along the lines of "Why
wasn't this done during the term?" are asked.
In my experience it is ok to make yourself available voluntarily, but
admin would have kittens if you scheduled it in the holidays. What's to
stop other teachers doing the same and putting their compulsory revision
on at the same time as yours? It also puts enormous pressure on every
other VCE teacher to do the same.
Real can of worms.
Cheers
Cameron
