[Year 12 IT Apps] OT: Anti - Cyberbullying Policy

Hi David, we at St.B's dont have an 'official' policy on this one, but try to encourage a friendly, non-confrontational environment among our students. Also, mobiles and ipods are banned or confiscated if used during school hours and this assists in lessening the options for cyberbullies. The staff also monitor student e-communications such as emails etc and this appears to work. Granted, it is a country town and less than 400 in the school, but the whole school approach and friendly environment works better here than punishment...its an attitude thing..more positive attitude works better than negative....positive reinforcement etc. Not new wave, just common sense really.
As a backup plan, the IT teaching staff have on their laptops a program that can monitor and/or remotely control users who are logged on - this is a powerful deterrent to system abuse - plus its fun sending some 'random' messages to students and we all have a laugh occasionally, its just that sort of place here. Oh, and the kids stir me too as they know I have a twisted sense of humor and love a laugh too! (they often have a larf at my expense and I just grin and wear it!)

Subject: [Year 12 IT Apps] OT: Anti - Cyberbullying Policy

Dear all

If there are any generous souls out there that are happy to share their anti-bullying / cyberbullying policy with me i would be greatly appreciative. I need to develop and implement an anti-cyberbullying policy at my school and desperately do not want to reinvent the wheel.

Kind regards,

Dave
