I have used Visual Basic by our own Adrian Jansen there are 2 versions
VB 6 and VB.Net. I have used VB 6 with both my yr12 and yr 11 classes
and it has been great.

Hmm, probably akin to reading my tea-leaves, palm print or grass
clippings.

I seek inspiration for my obscure messages from rain drops on the
footpath and the handy round filing cabinet that kept under my desk.
Potential readers should be warned that these half-baked scribbings from
a feral word-smith have the potential to cause errors in vlookup tables,
grow stray bits on read only media. This is the wheel-spinning gravel on
the side of the super highway. Simply observing my words will trigger a
quantum computing event that will flash them out of existence, into a
parallel universe where they may appear as kitty tray liners for
Schrodinger's cat.

By contrast, my VITTA Infonet journal "Scrapbook" column is a finely
refined and cultured distillation made this living, breathing compost of
web2.0dribblings. If anybody is really interested, curious or just plain
nosey ... drop me a line off-list for details, RSS feeds and other
secret handshakes. :-)

Regards Roland

PS: Cripes .. I had better get back to writing reports or my head goes
up on a stick with the others.

All

Well it starts all over again today, with a new batch of smiling faces.
We call it promotion.

Its where the entire school moves up a grade for a week and half in
readiness for next year.

What are other schools doing?
Do you get access to your 2008 yr 12s this year?
Do you give them holiday work?

Regards

Brendyn

We do one day.

So I get my 9 students (yes nine hee hee) for one 50 minute session.

I have given up giving out holiday homework. The only students who do it
are the ones that don't need to.

I tell them to have a holiday and come back refreshed.

PS I do encourage them to read the IT section of the papers but that's
it.

Brendyn
As for promotion we have one 70 min lesson to orientate the kids for
next year.
Our 11's left yesterday
10's go today
The rest leave next week.

Personally I wish we had three periods with the new 12's we could start
to get some meaty work done.

However that is what we have so we make the best of it.
