Hi Brendyn,
The VCAA does not use criteria any more, rather "Performance Descriptors"
Have a look at the assessment handbook at http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/vce/studies/infotech/InfoTechHB_2007.doc and you will find the performance descriptors for U301 starting on page 14. Many teachers do want to convert the performance descriptors into criteria in an assessment rubric (? spelling!). Perhaps others can help you with that.
I am now semi-retired but have in the past felt comfortable using the performance descriptors in both IT and Physics. Others are not happy as they have the need to justify their assessments when they are challenged by students and parents.
It is perhaps worth stressing to both students and parents that school assessments are moderated by VCAA against the exam results to even out differences between "easy marking" teachers and "absolute bastards"! The important thing is that your assessment gets your students in the right order.
Good luck
Robert Hind (Semi-retired)

Is there an official Criteria Marking Sheet from VCAA?
