We also ban EXEs and password-protected archives (and also BMP files,
because of their size - if they really need uncompressed pix, they use
uncompressed TIFF).
A ban on EXE is no problem with Game Maker or VB because they just
re-compile when they need to play/run their proggy. You don't need to
make a VB executable for it to be runnable :-)
As for the other suggestion I heard of renaming file types (e.g. EXE to
JPG) - I tell kids that is one of the worst sins that will bring the
MIGHTY WRATH of DOG upon their tender flesh and cause them to GNASH
their teeth and REND their garments. I have no wish to encourage
stealth filetypes!
