Hi List
As a first year VCE ICT Teacher I am having trouble getting my head around w=
hat I am supposed to be teaching my students for this task.
If anyone out there has a sample U3O2 time line/course content document that=
I could use I would be VERY appreciative! I will be using FrontPage as my w=
eb design tool, but I am unsure what i should be teaching my kids and in wha=
t order.
Any help would be terrific. Thanks in anticipation!
Cheers

Thanks for the idea Mark, I noticed Margaret L's comment about what she did=
with her group. I reckon that with a combo of your idea and hers, I should=
be able to nail it now. What I had in my own head was along similar lines t=
o what you two have done calling on my pre-teaching days experiences in the=
"real world" workforce. Mind you, the methods have changed, but the concept=
s essentially, are still the same.
Again, thanks for the feedback Mr. K. Will look at your website and see if=
that inspires some ideas...
Any others with ideas are still appreciated as its likely to still be a curi=
osity for many.(OC2, that is.).
Good luck to all.

[Re-sent - didn't go through first time]
I've just finished U3O2 and the kids took it pretty well after they
(finally) understood what I was asking of them. Freak not out too
mightily.
Remember the site is only meant to be a prototype, so it's like a sample
of what a real site might look like.
Furthermore, features can be simulated so it only has to appear as if a
virtual team could use it to satisfy their knowledge sharing and
decision making.
My kids spent most of their production time in Photoshop and Microsoft
Image Composer doctoring screenshots of Wikis, blogs, email lists etc
that they'd found on the web. They'd change the wording in the
screenshot to suit the case study I gave them and their web page merely
loads the the image and it looks like it had leapt to a working PHP tool
(for example).
In Dreamweaver, you can VERY easily create image maps, so my clever
bunnies had fun putting maps over pictures of buttons so when someone
clicked on the right part of a picture of a screen showing "secure login
button" (for example), Dreamweaver jumped to a page as if they had
actually logged in. They had quite a lot of fun doing that sort of thing.
Only a couple of my kids actually went as far as creating their own
forum or wiki or Coppermine photo gallery (because of time or facility
constraints)... they Googled existing pages on the net, took
screenshots, and manipulated them so they looked "genuine".
What I was looking for was that they could show me they understood what
tools a virtual team would use for what purposes, and give me an idea of
what such a site would look like in action.
