Try http://msdn.microsoft.com/academic/support/asianregion/default.aspx
My school joined last year, at a cost of say $1400 from memory, and renewal
this year was about $650. Very worthwhile, especially as students may
legitimately use the software on a home computer.
Sorry if this has been answered already. I'm not sure I'm receiving all
messages correctly at the moment.

Frank - I went through this process mid year. MSDN Academic license is the
way to go.It is a low cost option and good value. It also allows you to
provide the software for students to use at home.

Regarding stability - I had all those hassles as well. It is a combination
of getting the config right and a bit of experience.
We had to make the following changes to individual PC's for file i/o and
even some keyboard i/o (eg Inputbox) to work. This can be incorporated into
the standard PC setup.
Control Panel/Administrative Tools/MS NET Framework 2.0 Config/Configure
Code Access Security Policy/Adjust Zone Security/Make Changes to this
computer/. then change All Zones to Full Trust
You can probably just apply this to a couple of the zones, but I had to
solve it quickly and did not test the minimum requirment.

Hello Colleagues,
We are in the budgeting phase for 2007. I am currently using vb.net express.
I am wondering if anyone knows anything about pricing for priviate schools
for vb.net whe I presume the express version is no longer free.
Currently, for our school to get vb.net we would have to purchase the full
visual studio suite at just over $100 per license. has anyone delved into
the MSDN Academic Alliance?
On another topic, how stable have people using vb,.net express found it on
their student systems? In my class of 26 years 9/10 students, we find the
product reasonably stable but some students get some strange system errors
occasionally (strange I suppoose because of the cryptic way the application
reports errors)...of course our system protection mechanisms would not have
anything to do with that....would they...??
