I am just about to give an emerging technologies research project to my year 10 class. Your list is quite comprehensive and I have not heard about many of these. I may learn a few things from this research as well

Hi Everyone
Integrating Emerging (or Emergent) Technologies into a learning context
neccesitates educated guesswork. No pun intended.

education.au limited (ACT Education and Training) which comprehensively
summarises Emerging Technologies.
I have begun my own summary/introduction and would appreciate any
comments, opinions and examples of good practice (including software use
that you know of and are happy to share.
The report above emphasises the following general trends;
interoperability; convergence; divergence; integration; richness of
content; security; creativity, interactivity plus collaboration; and
utilisation of open source software as a potential alternative.
Consideration needs to be given to the importance of the environmental
context - political and legal; social and cultural; educational; and
technology environments.

considerations eg
Teaching and Learning outcomes
. Is the technology likely to support and improve teaching and learning
outcomes?
. Does it provide students with the digital literacies required to live
and work in contemporary society?
. Does the technology enable existing pedagogical models to be utilised?
. Does it require new thinking about teaching and learning in order to
fully utilise its potential?
Other headings include; Acceptance (Teacher, Student, Parental),
Leadership in Use and Take-up, Relevance, Sustainability, Interoperability
and Integration, Applicability.
I recommend this report to help you consider the place of Emerging
Technologies in your own practice.
