Hi all
I was just thinking after reading the draft study design about assessment
issues in relation to some of those outcomes in comparison to what we do
now.
>From my own experience I am finding that SACs especially for IPM and IS for
Unit 4 Outcome 1 tend to vary between 5 and 10 or so periods in length,
depending on who you talk to.
One problem that I find at this school is that with various interruptions
such as SAC days, etc that you can end up completing a SAC over three weeks.
My questions is that with the new Study Design should we start thinking
about how to maybe break up the assessment for each of the Outcomes so that
maybe we teach during single periods and assess only on double periods?
I tend to find that both IPM and IS are among only a few subjects whose SACs
are assessed over longer timeframes than a double. Is there a more efficient
and easier way to break up assessment? Maybe assess regular times each week
or even once a fortnight, rather than in blocks as we currently do.
I would be interested in some thoughts.
Cheers
