[Year 12 IPM] Audacity

Pro Tools Free is available from Digidesign. Its big brother Pro Tools 
is the industry standard (it won an Oscar last year!) in the recording 
industry and Music Departments  at Monash, VU etc. It's hit or miss 
whether it will work with your Windows sound cards (Soundblaster OK, 
essSolo no good) but runs well on Mac OS 9x! Needs at least 256MB RAM

After ProTools, Audacity is definitely the best option. It is cross 
platform and runs on Max OSX/9x, Linux and WinXX. The MacOS 9x version 
is frozen at an earlier release and has some scrolling issues.

I don't know any musos that use Audacity, they usually work with Adobe 
Audition until they can afford Pro Tools!
