[Year 12 IPM] Fw: Yr 11 course outline

Hi Andrew,
 
There is a Network CD that I believe was created and issued by VITTA.  I hav=
e been using it for the past 2 years.  It is an interactive CD that we loade=
d onto our network server and it has interactive quizzes, worksheets and ple=
nty of information about networks in a more pleasing way to the text book. =
 If you don't have it, contact VITTA and see if they have copies that you ca=
n buy.   I can't remember how much it was but I don't think it was too expen=
sive.

Hi all
 
I am teaching yr 11 IT for the first time next year (with 25 kids!)
 
anyway i have just started having a look at it and thinking about the curric=
ulum
 
i have produced a course outline (both for myself and for the students) - se=
e attached
 
I would appreciate any feedback on it from others who have or are teaching u=
nits 1 and 2 
 
in particular unit 2 outcome 2 (networks) seems fairly dry -- any1 got any i=
deas to jazz it up?
 
I was thinking of some practical component using old PCs or something - anyb=
ody tried something like that?
 
overall thought the course looks pretty fun - lost of room for the kids to e=
xpress themselves and be creative
