[Year 12 IPM] Record for number of messages broken !!!

Hi IPM ( soon to be itapps) colleagues,

Well you have done it. In Nov 2006 you posted 435 messages ( about 15 per day ) overtaking the previous record of 424 (Aug 2006) set by the Business Managers' mailing list. Remember they are at their desks/computers almost the whole working day and your working day is a different arrangement.
I hope the interaction was useful as we enter a new dawn ..... not meaning to be too dramatic.

While I have your attention. In the next little while the ipm mailing list will be retired and all subscribers will be moved to the new list itapps at edulists.com.au . You do not need to do anything. A message will go out when the changeover ( will it be direct, phased, pilot or parallel ???? -- just kidding ! ) takes place. Just keep replying to the list. For a while both ipm at edulists.com.au and itapps at edulists.com.au will go to the same place after which ipm at edulists.com.au will no longer exist ........ :( teary eyed ..... I believe it is the first name change for IPM since 1990, though I am happy to be corrected if that is wrong.

A similar announcement will go out to the is at edulists.com.au list which will convert to sofdev at edulists.com.au .

The twig on the edulists tree showing ipm will gradually shrink and be overtaken by the itapps twig and similarly the is twig will give way to the sofdev one.

Anyone care to make a speech on the cusp of this momentous occasion or are we too busy stressing out about next year ? I am not sure about everyone else but I will have sofdev, yr11it and VET IT which will all be new next year ( I will also teach Cisco CCNA 1-2 and Cisco CCNA 3-4 ).

With thanks and Best Wishes to all of you

G'day Keith, my virtual shoes are ringing (or is it my music player). Yesterday my memory laces come loose with too many unanswered SMS pages and I had to reboot the soles. Enjoy the attached creative writing essay by one of my IPM students from four years ago.

(* Clicks heels of his red shoes three times, shouting there is no place like school, there is no place like school ... *) Apologies to Dorothy and Toto.

  Regards Roland

G'day Scotty - suggestion - just timetable virtual classes with virtual
teachers in virtual spaces then the kids stay at home, the teachers stay
in the staffroom (to be close to the coffee machines), and the school
puts extra Moodle servers into the empty classrooms. Time becomes
immaterial because classes may be held either synchronously (if you were
able to put them together in the timetable, and asynchronistically at
other times. It sounds so good, I might just give it a try (joking...).
    Cheers, Keith
