Dear colleagues
As you are aware, the current study design is closer to reaching its expiry=
date, and with this brings a range of matters, one of which is the relation=
ship between the units within the existing study and those in the reaccredit=
ed one.
Students who have enrolled in a VCE IT unit cannot get credit in 2007 (or be=
yond) for undertaking a comparable unit in the reaccredited study design. Fo=
r example, if a student is currently doing IPM they could not get credit for=
doing IT applications. They could certainly enrol in IT applications, but i=
t would be treated as a repeat rather than a new set of units. The codes for=
all of the IT units in the reaccredited study design are the same as for th=
e current study.
Also, on another matter. I am aware of some schools that have included in th=
eir senior course selection booklets, descriptions of the current study rath=
er than the new one. This is most unfortunate. If you are in this situation,=
and need to make amends quickly, visit the VCAA website <vcaa.vic.edu.au> f=
or a summary of the changes and a summary of the reaccredited study design.
Regards
Paula
