Pascoe Vale Girls has about 1450 students and I'm the new Markbook
coordinator/student assessement reporting person. At our last school
review it was decided to create the position as a LT1 with 3(!) periods
time allowance. The job is bigger than that - but not continuously. The
time consuming parts are creating and validating all your data imports
and report design.
What have I learnt?
1) Sit down with all your data providers before it gets urgent and try
to get consistent IDs for students, teachers courses(subjects) and classes.
2) Make sure you understand the relational model for databases - just so
you know what's happening.
3) Get acquainted with Markbook's help desk - they are very, very good.
4) Make backups!
5) Brush up your Excel skills.
6) Don't Panic!
Best wishes,
Laurie
