[Year 12 IPM] RE: Integrating ICT and VELS

Dear Debra and colleagues

 

There is no testing program for ICT and the VELS. The testing program is
a national one, which is currently being conducted. Eighty one Victorian
schools have been randomly selected, and 15 students from each are being
tested. These students (from both grade 6 and year 10) have also been
randomly selected. Testing is cyclical, and not due again until 2008. If
you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you so so much to all those people who have offered support,
encouragement, arguments which can be used for our 'cause' and documents
which I can refer to. Especially to Margaret who provided me with her
documents.

 

One issue that has been raised is that students will be required to do
an IT exam (similar to the AIM tests) for students next year and
thereafter. I do remember hearing about this, but cannot find any
details of who will run it or what year levels it will apply to. Can
anyone out there in IPM land help me?

 

I will put together a submission to go to our Junior School committee in
the next week or so, when I have done so I will make it available to
everyone, and get your feedback if that is ok.

 

Take care everyone - isn't it just DIVINE to be back (she says with
throbbing headache!!)
