Hi Fiona

I think you'll find that it depends on what you do with the material, a 
bit like photocopying. The 10% or one chapter  thing applies to a whole 
work and if you copy an illustration or poem etc then you are using 100% 
of the work anyway.

If you are only using it  on your college Intranet, then the rules for 
education apply, but if you make it public via the Internet, then the 
usual copyright restrictions apply and you would need to seek permission.
