As each state and territory is being tested, only a sample of schools
have been selected. I am actually conducting some of the tests, so it
will be interesting seeing how the students go.

Thanks for that information Paula - I had thought that the ICT testing
was to be more widespread (as in the AIMS tests).

Dear Ros and colleagues

I can provide you with some information about national ICT testing.
Starting from today through to 18 November, students from 81 schools in
Victoria will undergo an ICT test. Fifteen students from each school
have been randomly selected, as have the schools. The students are
either in grade 6 or year 10, and the national testing will occur every
three years.

Please contact me personally if you have any further queries.

Regards

Paula Christophersen

Thank you so so much to all those people who have offered support,
encouragement, arguments which can be used for our 'cause' and documents
which I can refer to. Especially to Margaret who provided me with her
documents.

One issue that has been raised is that students will be required to do
an IT exam (similar to the AIM tests) for students next year and
thereafter. I do remember hearing about this, but cannot find any
details of who will run it or what year levels it will apply to. Can
anyone out there in IPM land help me?

I will put together a submission to go to our Junior School committee in
the next week or so, when I have done so I will make it available to
everyone, and get your feedback if that is ok.

Take care everyone - isn't it just DIVINE to be back (she says with
throbbing headache!!)
