Hi
This is Cliff
Without checking the fine detail and only going from memory, one of the options in Ghost is to add a script to go with sysprep. It is a 2003 RIS script labelling the machines, (and fits into ghost on the same page as where sysprep edit is? I am not positive about the actual location without sitting in front of a machine) There is also a second option where a similar script picks up the label on the machine and keeps it through the image process and then reapplies it ot the same machine. We are about to trial this so don't hold me to the fine detail
Hope this points you in the right direction
Cheers
Cliff

Hi Margaret,
We are also using Ghost at the moment. Trouble is our techs say there is no way of getting Ghost to automatically assign each computer with an individual computer name and location so they are doing this manually to each computer after the image is downloaded. This is very time consuming. Is there an easier way?

Hi Paul
We use Symantec Ghost to do this.

Dear Lists (apologies for any cross posts)
Is anyone successfully using the Remote Installation Services of Windows 2003 server to re-image computers and automatically have them reconnected back onto the network with computer name and location. Apparently this can be done. We are looking for a solution to save our techs from having to do this manually.
