[Year 12 IPM] photo conversion question

Picasa2 - which is virtually an iPhoto rip off, (don't know how they got away with it) also allows image batch conversion. 
-Select Picture Menu and then Batch edit function.  

-Program (free) is available at  www.picasa.com/download/index.php 
-for PCs only

  In our school the reporting package shows student photos.  Last year the photos were jpg format, this year we a have a disc with 900+ photos in bmp format which do not show up in the reporting program.

  My question, is there a way to covert the 900+ bmp to jpg in a bulk rather than individually.
