Dear Colleagues.

This email is to let you know a little about the Keynote speakers at the
VITTA Annual Conference
<http://www.vitta.org.au/conferenceinfo/vitta-annual-conference-2011> at
Caulfield Racecourse on 29 - 30 August 2011.

Roger Larson is the founder of Fronter, and he has an enormous amount of
experience in education and in particular in working with schools that are
embedding technology everywhere as a natural part of everyday teaching and
learning. His ideas and technologies have been adopted in a huge number of
schools across Europe. In the last few years he has been involved in Pearson
Education, providing resources for K12 education.

Mark Pesce is well known to many of us through his television appearances.
His ideas about Hyperconnected education involve the massive breaches in the
walls of the classroom and the resultant connections with the world
outside. With his background as an inventor of VRML, his involvement in Film
and Television schools, and so on he has much to say to stimulate us about
the changes that we are witnessing and the things we can look forward to in
education.

Nathan Bailey has a strong history in developing and using technologies to
transform education by providing innovative learning programs, allow new
opportunities and respond to student needs. He will be able to share his
experience and show us the way our students are using communication
technologies in their university years.

Suelette Dreyfus has a long history of studying whistle-blowers and the
media, and enhancing language education. She has an enormous amount of
experience as a reporter, an author and an academic. Her involvement with
WikiLeaks is certainly topical there have been huge downloads of her ebook
Underground. Her insider view of current and past events will be
illuminating for us all.

The venue is really easy to find your way around to the numerous workshops
and events and to the Exhibitors area. Nothing is very far from anything
else.

Parking is easy, with a large area set aside for Conference participants.

Catching up with colleagues from other schools is such an important part of
any conference and is something we all look forward to with relish.

See you at the Conference on Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th August!

Jo
