[Further Maths] Understanding a Matrices Question in the Heinemmann Book

Hi All,

 

My colleague and myself have been having trouble with a question in the
Further Maths Heinemann Enhanced Edition, 

and would like to request some please. 

9.6 worked example and question 1.

 



 

Final matrix



 

8% of adults died. In the final matrix 3rd column 4th row, 4% of the dead
adults is placed.

My question is what happened to the other 4% of dead people to total 8%.

I'm thinking that it should be 0.08 instead of 0.04. 

 

WHERE HAVE ALL THE DEAD PEOPLE GONE!!! PTL!
