Let's face it ..
the computer's Lara Croft is a significant world character :)
She's also been in movies (played by Angelia Jolie, no less),
novels, comic books, games etc, even awarded a Guinness World
Record as the world's most successful human video game heroine.
Indeed, maybe the world's female Indiana Jones, as Wikipedia say:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lara_Croft "is generally presented as an
intelligent, athletic, and somewhat reckless Englishwoman of noble birth
who travels the world in pursuit of priceless artefacts. Known as both an
archaeologist and an adventurer, she frequently ventures into ancient, and
often very hazardous, tombs and ruins. In addition to traps and puzzles,
Lara encounters a variety of enemies including rivals, gangsters,
dangerous animals (including dinosaurs), legendary creatures, and
supernatural beings. The fantastic nature of her archaeology related
adventures have drawn comparisons to Indiana Jones.'
Anyway, my point you ask? Ahh, well .. Lara Croft is apparently as well
known as any human, so maybe the first recognized citizen of cyberspace?
Indeed .. the first-lady of cyberspace .. maybe, first world-cyber-citizen.
Well she's eleven this year. And, because Lara Croft epitomizes a vip human
and computer relationship in terms of virtual reality for so many worldwide
her photo album is interesting evidence of how far major world VR has come:

For eg, from the stylish annie oakleigh series one Lara Croft

to a stunningly real femme fatale of later & better technology

to the now somewhat edgy Tomb Raider series Lara VR character

Anyway Lara, first lady of world cyberspace, live long and prosper.
