Picking up on the frequent requests for book ideas for the classroom, the
Centre for Youth Literature presents Novel Ideas; book selection for the
classroom. 

The one-day seminar will provide extensive ideas from leading book
specialists including Pam Macintyre and Susan La Marca (Viewpoint
magazine), Judi Jagger and Rita Blackburn (Fiction Focus) and Mike
Shuttleworth and Lili Wilkinson (Centre for Youth Literature).

Extensive book lists will be supplied, covering Years 5 to 10.

Writers Morris Gleitzman and Maria Boyd (who is also a secondary teacher)
will also offer insights to the ways students can respond to books in the
classroom.

The event will be at the State Library of Victoria, Friday 23 May. 9am -
3.30pm.

Cost is $160 or $130 for CYL subscribers.
