[English] year 7 novels other literary texts

Captain Mack by James Roy works well with our year sevens.  It deals very
well with the issue of bullying, and relationships between the aged and the
very young.  Lots of good scenes to role play.  Also good examples of how
the author positions the reader in regard to these issues.

Does anyone have any great year 7 texts that have worked wonders for them?
I'm at Bacchus Marsh: not quite rural and certainly monocultural. We are
currently doing Dougy and Finn and the Big Guy. The latter is to go.
(Hatchett is not a pos. done in year 6). Thanks, Russell
