[elearning] iPad repairs

Hi all...
Just wondering where people go to get their iPads repaired. It seems a bit over the top some of the quotes will only replace the whole device, for $100 less than new (refurbished) while other places charge between $100 - $200 to make non genuine repairs which replace just the screen and a limited warranty.... But would that then void the Apple warranty?
