Apple TV is great, however there is so much less mucking around in a school context to simply use

www.airserverapp.com<http://www.airserverapp.com> - This allows you to mirror screens direct to a teachers laptop which is then connected via a projector etc. As long as the iPad exists on the same network  as the PC then you can mirror in the same way would using apple tv.

www.reflectionapp.com<http://www.reflectionapp.com> - The same as above but strictly for mac's. This is what I use

I have also used Apple TV to test it but had to have the Ethernet cord connection to Apple TV as wireless is not a possibility as it doesn't cater for username/password enterprise logins

Hi everyone,

I was wondering whether many schools have had experience with installing, connecting and using Apple TV. We are currently investigating it's use, with the ultimate aims of it being that:

a)      Students can present/broadcast their iPad screen onto the projector wirelessly

b)      Likewise with teachers

Unfortunately, it seems that because the AppleTV is designed as a 'home use' device, it does not fit in seamlessly with our complicated network.

Together, with our IT department, I have mapped out the following:

I would be very interested in hearing your experiences. How are they setup? Do they get much use? Have they been worthwhile?
