I have also just got an android - Acer Iconia complete with micro sd slot, but more importantly a usb port. I am yet to find something on the ipad that my colleagues use that the Android cannot do without iTunes! Early days yet but so far I am most impressed.

Yeah I like the docs app... and coming from a photography background I love the SD card reader and USB port... even one of my dyed in the wool mac users was swayed when I told her about the sd card slot.
Thanks Gavin

All of the usual Android apps are available. I do know that it comes with a docs app that has an equivalent to word, powerpoint and excel. It also runs flash which can come in handy.

I tried one from Network Neighborhood. Andrew Collins there has been spending a fair bit of time working on them. Phone him if you have questions about the apps store etc.

Thanks Suzanne

Can we get an idea of the apps available for the Lenovo, compared to the Apple collection?

Have you looked at the Lenovo Tablets?????

Even though I am a Mac user, I think they will work better in the classroom. They have gorilla glass which is extremely strong and scratch resistant. Also, Lenovo will image them with your apps before they arrive. They will also do a 3 year drop and throw type of warranty on them for the same price as the laptop warranty. Lats of all, you can set up a school app store through Lenovo, so that students can all download the apps that you have purchased as a school.

Check it out, I know I was impressed, and I love my iPad, and have done a trial at our school.

Hope this helps.
