Have you looked at the Lenovo Tablets?????

Even though I am a Mac user, I think they will work better in the classroom. They have gorilla glass which is extremely strong and scratch resistant. Also, Lenovo will image them with your apps before they arrive. They will also do a 3 year drop and throw type of warranty on them for the same price as the laptop warranty. Lats of all, you can set up a school app store through Lenovo, so that students can all download the apps that you have purchased as a school.

Check it out, I know I was impressed, and I love my iPad, and have done a trial at our school.

Hope this helps.

Hi all...
Just a quick question about ipads and how people set them up for school owned ones...

We have 25 which we are wanting to set up as a trial for students to use this term, and next year, to get staff thinking about how they can develop appropriate learning tools...
My thoughts were to create an email address for each ipad, and an itunes account linked to this. We will provide the iTunes voucher for the paid apps etc, and the kids log in to the account and download apps... If classes change, the account etc goes with the iPad

It made sense to me when I was first thinking it out... but was wondering if there are other approaches people are taking...
Keep in mind these are school owned devices, which may be used by different students in blocks of time (or even teachers)...We envisage students having a device such as an iPad or tablet on the booklist in the following year....which will link to their own or a home itunes account, as it will be a student/parent owned device.

Any thoughts?
Cheers
Suz
