[elearning] BYO device?

I quite agree Cameron.
Same conversation all over the place at ISTE 2011 .. they call it BYOT or
bring your own technology. Techs at our school recognise that our role will
change as we move towards 1:1 and that this will become our second
generation. Just imagine if a student with a ACER netbook from one school
transfers to an IBM netbook or Macbook school. Ultimately the tech hardware
doesnt really matter as much as we thought it would, providing on-ramps to
learning does. The tertiary colleges in the USA are really good at providing
ICT help desk for users who need to connect their devices and some basic
trouble shooting. Good to take a leave out of this book. Say, don't AU
parents get a 50% tax deduction if they purchase a laptop for their child?
